This quote harkens back to one of our earlier inspirational quotes, “Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will”.

Thanks to self-doubt, we can fail even before we start something, and miss out on the chance of success, or at the at the very least opportunities to learn and grow. However, J-Lo suggests antidote to self-doubt: self-awareness: to understand who you are, what you are capable of, and what you stand for.

As an artist, and almost from the start of her career, there have been scores of naysayers who doubted J-Lo’s skills and abilities. At almost every point, she has had to prove them wrong. To do so requires a healthy dose of self-assurance, which comes from being connected to yourself, and knowing what you are capable of.
