Do you realise how many times you have been affected by a gesture, or what someone said, even if it was an ‘offhand remark’?
This situation not only occurs in a structured setting, such as a lecture, but also in our casual interactions with colleagues, family, friends, or even members of the public. Whilst we have all be affected by a seemingly offhand or harmless remark or gesture by others, we ought to recognise that we also have made careless remarks or gestures that have hurt others.
A welcoming smile, a kind word or small compliment can make a world of difference. We thus ought to be mindful of the positive impact we can have in our daily interactions, and kind of difference we want to make in the lives of others.
Best wishes, and have a great day!
