When someone seemingly is considered an ‘overnight success’, very rarely is that the case in reality. Almost always, there would have been a long journey of hard word, dedication and sacrifice, for which they are now reaping the benefits.

It is also the same for people we consider ‘talented’. We see the potential they possess, but somehow, they really have not been able to realise the success that we – and everyone else – anticipated for them.

Typically, and what famous horror and supernatural fiction author, Stephen King, is reminding us in today’s quote, is that talent alone does not result in success. There is a lot of hard work, dedication and sacrifice – that we do not always see from the outside – that occurs to get to that success.

In our own lives, we can thus take to heart that nothing truly worthwhile will be achieved based on talent alone. We need to be prepared to work hard, in order to achieve success we know we are destined for.
