In our darkest moments, it is easy to lose hope, and never believe that you will ever be happy or carefree again. We all go through challenging experiences that could truly test our mental and emotional health. Unfortunately, and if you are not careful, and if either you allow yourself, or circumstances require you, to dwell for unduly long in that situation, you may come out more broken and damaged on the other side, and not easily able to ‘bounce back’ to who you had been.
It is during the difficult times that you need to focus on the positives: the large and small blessing in your life. Not only may these positives help you to endure a difficult experience, but they may also give you the strength to overcome.
It is also important to emphasise that if you have found yourself in a dark place, or believe that you are on your way to a dark place, of which you may not be able to dig yourself out, do not hesitate to seek professional help. Even having the presence of mind to recognise that you may not be able to endure or overcome on your own, is a victory.
