It doesn’t matter how talented you are, if you are to succeed at your craft, it requires unwavering commitment. We are reminded in the words of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, The heights of great men which are kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night.”
Further, we can sometimes focus on the big effort, the grand gestures, and give little credence to the incremental and consistent effort that can be made. Similar to the fable of the tortoise and the hare, slow and steady can win that race, and not the big push made at the last minute, having frittered previous opportunities to get the job done.
So in weight loss – speaking of Jenny Craig – often it is not what you do every so often that has yield the most long-lasting results. Instead, it can be the small, yet consistent, effort that ultimately wins the game. The same applies to life.
Best wishes and have a great day!
