Forgiveness is one of the virtues that many of us struggle with. If someone has done us wrong, we are likely to hold on to that transgression indefinitely, and perhaps even to the point that we cannot fully remember what had initially transpired.
Luckily, there are those among us – and hopefully your one of them – who are will to forgive. Forgiveness can be one of the most freeing experiences, as it allows us to let go of the hurt, the feelings of ill will, and even if it is just within us, to move on with some degree of calm and peace.
We all have actions or omissions that in hindsight, we wished we had not done. However, how generous are we in forgiving ourselves?
Many of us are still beating up ourselves, and may in fact, not yet be able to full face past situations and actions. However, forgiveness is a choice, and only you can make the decision to love yourself enough to forgive yourself and to move on.
Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:
- How forgiving am I of myself?
- How much do I believe in myself?
- To what degree do I choose to love myself?
Best wishes and have a great day!
