Fear of the unknown can be one of the most paralysing experiences any human can have, and it can cause us to not act, or to react out of fear, and consequently, make poor decisions. Women generally, tend to be more risk-averse than men, and so tend to be the ones who find it difficult to act when there is no plan, or the outcome of a situation is uncertain.
However, life for each and every one of us is an uncharted journey. Even when you have hedged your bets, and think that you have a ‘sure thing’, such as in terms of your profession, your job, or your life partner, there are numerous moving parts, which you do not control, nor can you predict.
More often than not, you end up having to play with the cards you are dealt, which in turn means that may mean that you just need to breathe, trust, let go and see what happens.
Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:
- How comfortable am I to work without a plan?
- How comfortable am I with uncertainty?
- How comfortable am I trusting the process?
Best wishes and have a great day!
