We have all heard the saying, “If you don’t know where you are going, any road will take you there.” So, if you have no goal or plan, then there cannot be anticipation or expectation.
Moreover, setting goals not only allows us to plan for the future – be it hours, days, weeks or years away – it can also help us to focus ourselves and our efforts. To that end, and in being motivated to achieve, goal setting can facilitate our continued growth and development, such as developing new skills, gaining experience, and revisiting and refining long-held beliefs, attitudes and behaviour that no longer serve us.
Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:
- What are three goals that I would like to achieve within the next week, next month, and the next five years?
- What are some of the ways I am working towards achieving each of these goals?
- What are some of the lessons I have learned so far in life that have equipped me for the journey that lies ahead?
Best wishes and have a great day!
