Women and girls make up approximately 50% of the world’s population, yet collectively, they are the most marginalized group in most societies.
Traditionally, women and girls are considered the responsibility of the males in the group, regardless of the age of that male. Thus, young boys are expected, in the absence of their father, to be the man of the house and take care of their mother and sisters.
Taking charge of their lives is a relatively new role for women globally, and this disposition does not always come naturally. It is a skill that has to be developed in the face of strong resistance from a male-dominated world.
We, women, must learn to be more resilient and persevere in the face of resistance, and work for small victories on the way to our ultimate goal.
Best wishes and have a great day!!
