Can you think back to when you were learning to ride a bike? It would have taken days or weeks to gain the confidence to maintain your balance and coordination. If you stopped riding for a while and decided to go back to it, you will get into your groove pretty quickly due to muscle memory and over time, your stamina and endurance will improve.
Muscle memory is a process that allows your body to remember certain motor skills and perform them without conscious effort. Muscle memory also helps us to reactivate old pathways that have been dormant for a while.
The same is true about life. Each time we are tested, and we prevail against the odds, there is growth. We become stronger, mentally and emotionally, and more confident in our ability to meet the challenges of life.
Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:
- In what ways have I become stronger and more resilient over the years?
- What would I have been like had I not had those difficult experiences?
- What would my life be like had I not had those difficult experiences?
Best wishes and have a great day!!
