It is often said that the only thing that remains the same about life is change. The people who are most successful at living rewarding lives are those that are able to adapt to the changes that occur at the various phases of their lives.
There is a riddle that asks, “What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs at noon and three legs in the evening?” The answer is humans (man). This example highlights the physical changes we go through as we move from infancy to adulthood and then old age.
But change is also required intellectually and emotionally as knowledge becomes available, and as attitudes evolve and change. We also need to adapt to new environments and acquire new skills to survive. This process comes to an end when we cease to be alive.
Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:
- How resistant am I to change?
- How prepared am I to start from scratch?
- How prepared am I to make mistakes and (possibly) look awkward or stupid?
Best wishes and have a great day!!
