Daily Inspiration, for 27 December 2022

by | Dec 27, 2022 | Inspiration

We are social beings who thrive best in a community surrounded by others who are like us. But a feature of communal life is that we are not only compared to others but we engage in comparing ourselves with others. And in many instances, the comparison is quite unfavourable.

We spend the greater part of our teenage years and early adulthood feeling inadequate because we are unable to match up to some of our friends or acquaintances. However, if we are lucky as we approach adulthood, we realize that we are ‘uniquely and wonderfully made’, and we are able to focus on being our best selves.

Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:

  • Do I still find myself comparing myself to others?
  • To what degree do I find myself needing the approval of others?
  • To what degree do I believe that I am ‘uniquely and wonderfully made’?

Best wishes and have a great day!!
