Whether we realise it or not, we were born under circumstances that we could not control. And as children, we were also raised under circumstances we could not control, and so would have been exposed to certain things or had experiences that perhaps in retrospect, we wish we didn’t have.

However, as you get older and more independent, there comes a point when you are in control of your life. You are responsible for life and your actions going forward, regardless of the circumstances.

This can be a challenging lesson for many, as they blame their childhood for how their lives have unfolded, and so in no way are taking responsibility for their actions and decisions as adults. However, who YOU are, and whom YOU choose to be, are not solely a result of your circumstances. The choices you have made and will make are the most important measures of the person you are and whom you will become.
