Daily Inspiration, for 8 November 2021

Two words, but depending on their order, can have vastly different meanings. The phrase ‘one day’ is pretty noncommittal. We tend to use it for ideas, plans and dreams that we hope to get to… eventually. On the other hand, ‘day one’ suggests intention: that we have actually started something. We have put out foot on the path, and are about to embark upon a journey…

When next you are faced with a situation or opportunity, it is easy to say, ‘one day’, as it gives us and others around us comfort that we have not dismissed it completely. But frequently, if we are honest, there is rarely any real intention to take advantage of that opportunity and bring it to life.

Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:

  • How often do you say one day versus day one?
  • Are there any really any recent or important opportunities that you let pass you by?
  • Are there any dreams plans or opportunities that you would like to realise, but have been saying ‘one day’?

Best wishes, and have a great day!
