Daily Inspiration, for 16 December 2021

by | Dec 16, 2021 | Inspiration

This quote reflects something that we all know, but whether or not we truly exercise it, or  truly live it, may not always be as clear.

For many of us women, we have been conditioned to believe that someone else – be it a parent, an older sibling or a romantic partner – will take the lead in our lives. Further, when we have children in our care, we can end up only defining ourselves as a parent or guardian, and not fully considering (and acknowledging) all of the dimensions of who we are.

Having said this, defining your life and writing your own script is not easy. It takes courage to fully accept and take responsibility for your life. However, many of us are focusing on the rat race of life, which to some degree, is an illusion, or rather a distraction.

Although the rat race of life is real, there are other battles to be fought, including those in relation to our personal growth and development, and ensuring that our actions, words and thoughts are truly aligned with who we are, and who we would like to be.

Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:

  • How do I define my life?
  • How would I define who I am?
  • How much control do I have over my life?
  • Are there others on whom I depend that might be dictating key aspects of my life?

Best wishes, and have a great day!
