Daily Inspiration, for 10 March 2022

To be fair, self-care has become a popular buzz word, and is used to encompass a broad range of activities related to the ‘care of self’. Typically, and in the public domain, self-care tends to focus on the physical: beauty, skincare, exercise, fashion, health and wellness. But in caring for self, many of us are deficient on the inner, that is, as it relates to our mental and spiritual health.

In taking care of self, we could benefit considerably from a holistic approach, which covers body, mind and spirit. It is thus critical that we learn more about ourselves, and so be able to tap into these core aspects of our being, and more importantly, become continually attuned to ourselves and our needs.

Having said this, it is emphasised that self-care is not a sprint, or short-term activity. It is a journey that should continue for the rest of your life, and so requires you to be patient and kind to yourself along the way.

Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:

  • How much time do I allocate for care of myself?
  • How much time do I allocate to taking care of my body?
  • How much time do I allocate to taking care of my mind?
  • How much time do I allocate to taking care of my spirit?
  • How can I become even more attuned with my body, mind and spirit?

Best wishes, and have a great day!
