Daily Inspiration, for 13 January 2022

Let’s be honest, most of us don’t have life figured out. We are complicated, and most of the time, we haven’t a clue what we’re doing, or what we are ‘supposed’ to be doing. On the flip side, many of us want certainty in our lives: in the consequences of the decisions we make, and the events that occur.

To a considerable degree, and if we allow it, uncertainty can paralyse us: make us afraid to make decisions or to act. That fear can limit our horizons and the types of experiences we have. But ultimately, it can undermine the joys of living.

Having said this, it must be acknowledged that fear is likely to always be there, lurking in the background. And though you may acknowledge your fear, and try to understand its source, there comes a point when courage is needed to power through.

Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:

  • How messy and complicated am I as a person?
  • How messy and complicated is my life?
  • How fearful am I in the experiences I am having?
  • How courageous do I think am?
  • Am I prepared to be courageous in difficult situations?

Best wishes, and have a great day!
