There are days that you just hope would end so that tomorrow will come, and there is the opportunity to start afresh. You know those days. Nothing seems to be going right, or it is especially stressful, or you just have a bad feeling that you shouldn’t have gotten out of bed in the first place.
However, today is today; tomorrow is tomorrow. You have no control over what tomorrow might bring. What you have (some) control of is today. Moreover, the seeds planted and nurtured today set the stage for what will be reaped in the future – be it tomorrow, or days, weeks, months, or even years ahead.
So it is important to not think of ‘tomorrow’ literally, but think about it as the future. And consequently, the biggest takeaway of today’s quote is that the preparations you make today can set the stage for the experiences you will have in the future.
Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:
- Am I giving the best of who I am, and what I can do, to today?
- Do I do my very best every day?
- Is there anything else I could be doing so that I set the stage to secure the best results from today?
Best wishes and have a great day!
