We have all heard the saying, “Change is the only constant in life”, but all too often, we resist change. It is part of the natural evolution of life, which can get be gentle, or result in a dramatic shift in our life or circumstances.
As much as change can be external, driven by a situation or by circumstances, we sometimes called upon to be the drivers of change. Unfortunately, many of us can resist and want to hold on to the status quo – although we know that it is no longer working for us, or to our benefit. We may not wish to give up a job that pays well, but leaves us exhausted and unfulfilled, or a relationship (romantic or otherwise) that seems to have run its course. We hold on, and so stifle the growth and the opportunities that are awaiting us on the other side of that change.
Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:
- How resistant am I to change?
- How prepared am I to live in discomfort of a situation that is no longer working for me, than in the uncertainty of change?
Best wishes, and have a great day!
