Daily Inspiration, for 18 June 2022

Sometimes, when you have an ambitious activity or a big hairy audacious goal, you are likely to feel overwhelmed from the outset. How do you eat this elephant? Even before you get started, you feel defeated, which easily can become a self-fulfilling prophecy…

Luckily, you have a dose of pragmatism from Saint Francis of Assisi. Essentially, you need to break down that goal into smaller tasks, and thereafter, they need to be ordered or categorised based on the degree of importance. First, your focus ought to be on what is mandatory to lay the foundation for accomplishing that goal. After completing the necessary tasks, your emphasis can shift to achievable tasks that again will take you further along the path towards your goal.

Now, thanks to all of the success you would have had after completing the ‘what is possible’ tasks, at the very least, you should feel good about yourself and confident in your abilities. In fact, your goal may actually be in sight and can be achieved with just a bit more perseverance. What was seemingly impossible at the start is now in the crosshairs and within reach.

However, all you have to do is make a start.

Best wishes and have a great day!
