Have you noticed how as girls we were brought up to be afraid of the world around us? Unlike our brothers and male counterparts, who were encouraged to try new things and to be brave in the face of uncertainty, we were constantly told what we were not allowed to do and that we should wait for the approval of some male figure before a certain task could be undertaken.
It is little wonder, therefore, that as adults, we find it difficult to get past our fears to try to live our dreams. As adults, we need to realise that we are responsible for our lack of progress. In other words, we are and have been holding ourselves back.
However, there is always the opportunity to change and do things differently. We can begin by taking baby steps: setting and achieving small goals, based on what we would like to happen and not being driven by fear or to avoid a consequence.
There is a difference.
Best wishes and have a great day!!
