As social creatures we humans tend to care what people think, and for us women, generally, that need is even more acute. When we were young girls, a gaggle of us would go together to buy sweets, or to confront another girl. There was comfort in numbers.
Now as an adult, you are expected to move through the world independently and confidently. And although you may do so, it is up to a point: as from to time, you may still need the validation or approval of others. However, people can be cruel, and they certainly do not know enough about you, or the path you are walking in life to be entrusted with, or to have a say, in your life and choices.
Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:
- Am I comfortable with the choices I am making?
- Am I comfortable in making decisions by myself, for myself?
- How important are the opinions of others to me?
- Why is the opinion of others important to me?
Best wishes, and have a great day!
