We may occasionally witness this attitude in ourselves or among those in our circle. We believe that ‘someone’, be it God, the World, or the Universe, for example, has conspired against us, resulting in us not having something in our lives that we desire. We can become bitter and resentful and feel poorly about ourselves and our circumstances.
However, thanks to that attitude and resulting behaviour, we are no longer open, nor are we creating the environment, to welcome what we say we want into our lives.
Generally, the World is not going to drop whatever you want into your lap in the way that you want it. Being open to what the World is offering, and doing the work – be it mentally, physically or emotionally – to receive what is being offered, are crucial.
However, many of us shut down, and so hold ourselves back from experiencing all that is available. By changing our attitude and perspective, and by being more present, we can change our relationship with the World.
Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:
- Is there anything that I believe the World is withholding from me?
- Why might the World be withholding the things I desire from me?
- What am I withholding from the World?
Best wishes and have a great day!
