We are all afraid of failure. In many instances, it is our greatest motivation to perform at our best, because we do not wish to fail.
Many of us have grown up in circles in which failure is something to be ashamed of, and to avoid at all cost. However, as this quote suggests, failure can be a blessing, as it can tell us whether or not we are on the right path, and when we ought to pivot, or even change direction completely.
It is the experience of failure that causes us to take stock of our lives, our goals and relationships: for failure is a great teacher. It forces us to question our existing assumptions, and lays bare who or what is genuine in our lives.
If we do not lose heart in the face of failure, we can rise triumphant!
Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:
- To what degree am I afraid of failure?
- To what degree am I prepared to continue down a path even when the desired outcome will not be achieved?
- To what degree am I prepared to pivot or change direction when a situation has not worked out as I had hoped?
Best wishes and have a great day!
