The quote by well-known novelist and writer, Anais Nin, is so true and sums up the experience of so many of us. As we have said before, to considerable degree, we women have been conditioned to be risk-averse. As a result, we are being constrained by our insecurities and the negative messages we continue to tell ourselves.

 In a panel discussion in which I recently participated, I was asked if there is any advice I would give women, what would it be. My response, “Be brave!”

All too often, we have shackled ourselves with the negative thoughts and messages, which limit our horizons, the experiences we have, and what we think is possible. If we are continually striving to be more courageous – to be braver than we were yesterday, and hopefully braver tomorrow than we are today – we may not be able to imagine the incredible ways in which our lives could richer, fuller and more fulfilling.

 

Just be brave!
