As a child, I was told, “Opportunity is an old man with a long white beard”. You have to recognise who he is as he approaches you and grab hold of his beard because if you allow him to pass your location, you will be unable to grab hold of him again. The moral of that story is that we need to recognise an opportunity when it presents itself and be prepared to take calculated risks.
All too often, when we are presented with an opportunity, we doubt, second-guess, hesitate or interrogate it for so long that the window closes. In hindsight, we tend to realise that we frittered away a life-changing opportunity, but by then it is too late. We allowed our fears and insecurities to stand in our way and hold us back.
So, try to recognise your rocket ship when it arrives, quiet all your fears and hang on for dear life.
Best wishes and have a great day!!
