Have you ever observed a toddler at work? How it can dominate a group of adults (parents) bending them to its will?

Even a child knows that anyone can exercise power: it will not be handed to you. You have to be confident enough to just take it.

However, many of us, especially women, are hoping that someone will see our potential and give us the opportunity to take the reins and lead. However, there has to be some evidence that you have what it takes, and when given the opportunity, you will succeed.

It therefore means that you need to take the opportunity – and even make the opportunity – to lead. Good leaders have the confidence of their team or those in their circle, that they have what it takes to get the job done.
