One of the hallmarks of youth, and especially childhood, is the craving of certainty in our daily lives. Adults, specifically parents and teachers, go to great lengths to create a stable environment in which young children are shielded from the changing circumstances that make up daily life. In this environment they are able to grow and thrive.
However, we are well aware that that life is filled with ‘glorious uncertainty’, and part of the journey of becoming an adult, is coming to terms with the uncertainty of life. So, it is truly a sign of maturity when we have the capacity to endure uncertainty, and have figured out how to cope with the changing landscape of our lives.
Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:
- How well do I cope with uncertainty?
- What do I do when a major change or upheaval is occurring in my life?
Best wishes, and have a great day!
