Daily Inspiration, for 29 June 2022

It is true. Most of us have a very self-centred view of the world, where to a considerable degree, we are the focus and everyone and everything in our circle revolves around us.

However, everyone is experiencing their own, individual journey. More importantly, to them, their needs eclipse yours, and so more often than not, they are likely to be acting in their own self-interest, and not yours.

In order to save yourself the anger, frustration and disappointment, it is indeed beneficial to realise how self-centred humans are – yourself included!

When you are able to see beyond your own needs, you are in a better position to manage your expectations. It also helps you to be open to the fact that people do not behave or act as you would like or expect, and ultimately, to better navigate the situations in which you find yourself.

Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:

  • How aware am I of the needs of people within my most intimate circles?
  • Generally, do I consider the needs, thoughts or perspectives of others?
  • Do I tend to focus primarily on myself and my own wants and needs?

Best wishes and have a great day!
