Have you noticed how nature renews itself after periods of hardship and stress? Trees replace their leaves after periods of cold weather or drought. Birds grow new feathers and other animals shed their coats and emerge brighter and more attractive than they were before.
In our own lives, there are things that weigh us down, mistakes we have made, opportunities we may have missed and flaws that we have identified in ourselves. These faults and failures can fill us with regret. However, if we are not careful, we may become so enmeshed in the past to the point we are afraid to move forward.
We thus need to remind ourselves that our faults and failings are part of life. More importantly, they ought to give us the impetus to grow and become better. It would thus do us well to look to nature and see each day as an opportunity to renew ourselves and get on with our lives.
Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:
- What are faults or mistakes that I still have not been able to let go of?
- Why have I not been able to move on from those faults or mistakes?
- How do I feel about myself and the faults and mistakes I have made?
Best wishes and have a great day!!
