Many of us women crave security in our lives. To a considerable degree, that desire for security is reflected in the choices we make, for example, the jobs we pursue, the decision to marry, and even who we marry.
However, the fact that we crave security does not mean that we will get it generally, or get it in the way, or to the degree, we would like. There is always uncertainty in life; and so seeking ‘security’ is essentially an illusion.
It may thus be better to be prepared to embrace the adventure of life. In focusing primarily on the safest or the most secure option, such choices may not always be fully aligned with who we truly are, and can result is discord in the future. Furthermore, we may not be as equipped as we should be to deal with the unexpected or consequences of those choices, because we have not built the inner strength that challenges demand.
Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:
- How risk-averse am I?
- How much security do I crave in this life?
- In what ways do I wish for (greater) security?
Best wishes, and have a great day!
