Have you ever noticed how young children approach the world with wonder and excitement because they are not encumbered by doubt generated from past experiences of failure by themselves or others?
In so many instances, we rule ourselves out of participating in once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to gain new experiences, acquire new skills, or simply, to have fun, because we doubted our capacity to undertake the required task. Yet, on those rare occasions when we were able to put aside our fear, we often surprised ourselves at the level of success we were able to achieve.
Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:
- What are some situations in which I allowed doubt to talk me out of opportunities?
- What are some situations in which I ignored my doubts and accepted opportunities that came my way?
- What can I do or tell myself in order to be able to walk through my fears?
Best wishes and have a great day!
