Daily Inspiration, for 8 December 2021

by | Dec 8, 2021 | Inspiration

In his book, Life Strategies, by Dr. Phillip McGraw, better known as Dr. Phil, one of the Life Laws he includes that is “You can’t change what you don’t acknowledge”. Until we recognise and acknowledge a problem, we will not be prepared to do what needs to be done to change the situation. Furthermore, we humans will do what works for us – which is another Life Law in the same book – as we will always do things in our best interest.

Looking at the darkness within ourselves is certainly not for the faint of heart: as we will need to confront ourselves, our failings, along with the consequences of the choices we have made. However, it is only when we are prepared to acknowledge our faults and failings that we will be in a position to change.

Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:

  • How willing am I to look at the darkness within myself?
  • If I am in a difficult situation, how ready am I to acknowledge the full extent of challenge or toxicity I am experiencing?
  • If I am prepared to stay in that difficult situation, do I know (or am I prepared to acknowledge) the benefit I am getting by staying in that situation?

Best wishes, and have a great day!
