In very difficult situations, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and that you have limited options to improve the situation, or even to extricate yourself from it completely. In these circumstances, it is understandable to feel defeated, which can take a toll on your mental, physical and emotional health.
Having said this, and although there might appear to be few options available to us, we often forget to examine our own attitude and perspective on the matter at hand. The truth is that our attitude and perception shape our reality, and consequently, how we choose to act or respond.
Accordingly, if we decide to change our attitude – and it is a choice – it is likely to cause us to change how we view a particular situation, and consequently, our behaviour and actions going forward.
Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:
- In a challenging past experience, how might me adopting a different attitude affected the situation?
Best wishes and have a great day!!
