Daily Inspiration, for 8 January 2022

The quote attributed to novelist and philosopher, Ayn Rand, was most likely inspired by text in her novel, The Fountainhead. Notwithstanding, the quote speaks to self-confidence, and to living your life on your own terms.

However, and although we may not need anyone’s permission to live our lives, not many of us can truly say that we live our lives on our own terms.

Also, and as women we tend to be risk-averse, and eager to take on board the views and opinions of others. Though it may be useful to consider the views of individuals who you trust, to what degree does their input change or affect the choices you were planning to make?

Throughout the day, we invite you to revisit this quote. Below are a few questions you may wish to ask yourself, and those who journal may find them especially useful:

  • Do I seek the permission of others to act on matters that affect me?
  • To what degree am I confident in my life and in my choices?
  • To what degree am I dependent on the counsel of others before I act?

Best wishes, and have a great day!
