Why am I panicking to get my yearly medical done?

For most of my life, i have tried to be responsible for the key aspects of my life, including my health. So, over the years, I have made it a habit to get an annual physical examination done with a GP. However, I am overdue, and I am reluctant to make the appointment, although I have it on my to-do list for about 3 months now... Can anyone relate? What has been your experience? How did you overcome this fear or uneasiness?
